Israel-Iran Conflict Day 6 LIVE Updates: The deadly conflict between Iran and Israel entered its sixth day on Wednesday, with both sides widening their attacks. In a live address, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran stands united and would not surrender. In his statement, which comes after US President Donald Trump’s call for the country to surrender, Khamenei warned that any US strike will have “serious irreparable consequences”.
Tehran has claimed to have fired hypersonic Fattah-1 missiles at Israel in the latest round of overnight strikes. The US president insisted Washington has played no part in Israel’s bombing campaign, but also warned Iran that his patience is wearing thin.
Israeli warplanes also targeted the archfoe Iran’s capital before dawn on Wednesday after the military issued a warning on social media for civilians in an area known as District 18 to evacuate. Iranian news websites said Israel was attacking a university linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in the east of the capital.
The Israeli military also said two barrages of Iranian missiles were launched toward Israel in the first two hours of Wednesday morning. Explosions were heard over Tel Aviv.
The US Office of the Director of National Intelligence says Iran is armed with the largest number of ballistic missiles in the Middle East. Iran has said its ballistic missiles are an important deterrent and retaliatory force against the US, Israel and other potential regional targets.
